November 18th/ 19th -Hudson Little Pirate / Independence Mini-Mustang

"CFWC" had a great first tournament weekend of the year! We ended with each and every wrestler getting their hand raised at least once. There are things we need to get better at and continue to improve on but there is nothing better than seeing these wrestlers chalk one up for the win column in the first tournament of the year!

November 24th/ 25th - Columbus Black Friday / Union Holiday Classic

The "CFWC" had another great weekend of competition. We had several wrestlers competing a multiple tournaments this last holiday weekend. As we continue through the season, we will continue to see better and better competition but our boys are up for the challenge. After a 5 way tie for 1st, the CFWC dropped to 4th via tie breaker criteria of; falls, tech falls,  and majors. We were able to take another step forward and fix some things from last week's competition and I am very pleased with the progress. We can and will continue to improve on things but the drive, the motivation, and the pride of these boys will be the foundation of this program for years to come!

December 3rd - CF Tiger Challenge / Hawkeye Nationals

The "CFWC" has grown 2 fold over the past few weeks with more and more area wrestlers joining in at all ages, especially the 7/8 grade groups. We are well over 40 members and growing, we are surprised but very pleased with the number of wrestlers joining the club. The more athletes we have, the more partners we have to help us push to get better every single day. Come join the family, tell a friend and get involved. We had a record number of participants this weekend, 27, competing at the CF Tiger Challenge and the Hawkeye Nationals tournaments. Practice is paying especially in the beginning members, we are starting to see things we are working on in practice come out in competition. The more advanced guys are sharpening their skills with little tweaks from supporting club coaches and it shows on Sundays!

December 10th - Waverly Little Go-Hawk 8 man

The "CFWC" saw some of best competition yet this last weekend at the Waverly 8 man Tournament. We took 7 wrestlers this last weekend. I can honestly say each and every wrestler worked as hard as they could to the last whistle. Wrestlers had between 2 and 5 hard fought matches on the day. Though we can up short in a more then a few matches, losing 4-5 matches by less than 2 points, we were able to take a few things away from those losses that can help us in the next close match. I continue to see the fight and desire in the boy's wrestling, we just need to tighten up a few lose ends and we'll be right back on track for the next tournament in Benton on December 28th.
