CFWC Weekly Update 2/13/2019

We had 6 wrestlers compete in the West Delaware Little Hawk tourney this past weekend. We have done a great job hitting as many tournament we can this season but they are slowing coming to an end in these next few weeks.

This weekend's participants, take minute next time you see them to congratulate them for their hard work!

Liam Wiechmann PK-K (Runner-Up)

Owen Iverson PK-K (Champion)

Gunner Emery 1-2 (Runner-Up)

Landon Wiechman 1-2

DaShadd Wright 3-4

Aiden Williams 3-4 (Runner-Up)

We were scheduled to take tomorrow off due to Coach Peter and myself being at the IHSAA State Wrestling Championships starting this afternoon. Due to the CFWC missing so many practices because of winter weather we are going to take advantage of the opportunity. Coach Wiechmann will be holding a combined PK-8th CFWC practice tomorrow Thursday 2/14 from 6:15-7:15pm @ the HS. Parents helpers and other coaches, since we will have HS coaches at state, we as a staff ask if you can be there to help Coach Wiechmann out that would be great!

Sunday 2/17/2019- TWE Wrestling Tourney, South Tama HS.

There is a PK-8th tourney this Sunday, 2/17 that you are all welcome to attend. We will not be sending coaches at this point but you can still wrestle to get one more in before the regular season ends! It is at South Tama HS, it is a USA Wrestling sanctioned event. You will need a USA card to wrestle in this tourney, here is how you get a USA card. You may want to purchase a multi year card because I foresee a lot of the CFWC team competing in the USA Iowa State Championships next January.

We have a few more practices after this week and we will be getting off season opportunities and CFWC banquet stuff out after next week. We have had a great season so far lets finish strong as we continue to make the CFWC and Cedar Falls Wrestling the best in the state!

Let me know if you have any questions or concerns,
