We had 3 wrestlers compete in one of the biggest tournaments of the year this past weekend. Caysen Curran, Aden Hanson, and Ryley Barnett were the first CFWC wrestlers to qualify for the AAU state wrestling championships. This is a huge deal for the CFWC and even bigger deal for the individual wrestlers themselves!
Caysen (4th) competed in the 94# A division. He had 2 tough matches and unfortunately was unable to come away with a victory. He was able to gain valuable experience and check out the atmosphere which will prepare and motivate him to get back down to the Wells next February.
Aden (8th) competed in the 120# C division. He was able to finish the weekend 2-2. Aden lost a close match, which ended his weekend of wrestling just 2 rounds from placing. Aden had a fantastic year, he moves onto the CF HS roster next year and I know this experience will only help his success going forward.
Ryley (8th) competed in the 160# C division. Ryley is the first CFWC Iowa AAU State Place winner. Ryley finished the weekend 3-2, he secured 7th place with a major decision and pin in 2 of 3 victories. Ryley also moves onto the HS program next year. His growth over this past wrestling season has been unbelievable and only expect that to continue.
